Letters From Tributes

shoebilling:

I’m going down to Texas in less than a month to visit my best internet friend. The ticket is completely paid for, but while saving, I underestimated the amount I’d need to do important things like feed myself. I’m not asking for donations, but what I am doing is trying to sell you stuff.

I’ve been making fleece hats for the past three or four years, and I sell them at conventions and online via Etsy.

These are the three designs I’ve decided to make for this little fund-raiser, because in addition to being pressed for time, my family is also moving and we’re closing on our house two days after I leave for Texas, and these three are the easiest for me to make.

All hats are 15 USD + $5 for S&H within the US or $8 outside the US.

Hat specs:

  • They’re about 24 inches in circumference, so they fit almost any adult comfortably.
  • I use both Blizzard or Anti-Pill fleece. Which one you get varies on the intended color of the hat, or whichever I have on hand at the time.
  • I can make any hat in any color. If you want a red Link hat or a shiny Ditto, just ask.

My Etsy page can be found right here.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you don’t want or have the money to buy a hat, I completely understand. However, I would greatly appreciate it if you took a second to reblog this so more people will see it.

This blog has been pretty dead/sporadic lately, but I’m reblogging this here because it’ll have the biggest outreach, and my friend is really strapped for cash atm.

Missing Asks!

I FOUND IT! I FOUND THE ANSWER!

Okay, maybe not the final answer, but part of the problem! Asks keep getting eaten. Which is a big problem when you’re doing something anon and don’t want to ask the person “did you get it”?

If the ask contains an ellipsis without a trailing space, it gets eaten. It says delivered, but it goes nowhere.

So “Well… then” will get delivered but “Well…then” won’t!

Hopefully this helps in getting your asks actually delivered.

Post I made for my RP account, but very relevant elsewhere.

After discovering this, I tested it. Five different accounts between two people, anon vs not. No matter what, without fail, if the trailing space was missing, the message was not delivered.

I contacted Tumblr staff. They were already fully aware this was happening, but it is not documented anywhere. Nor do they seem keen on giving their users a warning about it in any fashion.

Help me spread the word because the staff won’t!

WHAT EVEN THE HELL

This has been a big problem on this blog. So anyone who wants to submit letters, always make sure you put a space after an elipses, “So on… and so forth,” as opposed to, “So on…and so forth,” to keep your letters from being eaten. I had eleven eaten in one day alone, recently.

If it still doesn’t look like I’m getting your submissions, try submitting again with your entire letter in the title of the submission. It’s always the content that gets eaten, not the title. And even further after that, start sending me asks with your letters, if you’re STILL worried. It’s best to do this nonanonymously too, that way you can ask, and I can look for your username and see if I have your letter in my pile of awaiting letters!

Attention:

If you’re the person who just sent me eleven letters, none of them have gone through except for the titles, and you’re anonymous.

If you want to try again, try sending them via the ask box instead of the submission box, or submit the letters in the title only. That should clear up the problems.

Updates will begin at midnight, and the ask/submission boxes will both be opened again!

Regular updates will resume tomorrow or possibly tonight!

Update!

As my follower count plummets, I’m sure some of you are wondering if Letters From Tributes is ever going to come back. So here’s a little update on the hiatus. This blog will be coming back very soon! My second job ends in about a week, and once I take some time to catch up on my poor, neglected schoolwork, I’ll go through and make the letters in my inbox, and then go back and open submissions again. And then we’ll be back one hundred percent!

Hiatus

I’m sorry for the inactivity lately! I’ve been massively busy with school and work (I have a temporary, but very time-consuming second job, and a heavy homework load), and I haven’t had a lot of time to dedicate to this blog.

However, in a couple weeks, my second job will be over. Once that happens, I’ll try to start posting letters again, and get this blog back up and running. I’m sorry to all those who are waiting to have their letters posted, and I want to thank you for being so patient. Until this job ends, I’m going to go ahead and close submissions, but rest assured, this blog will be one of the first things I look after once I have free time again.

how do you get the box thingy and font for one of the letters? :)

You don’t ;) You can download the font, but the template is my own design. If you want to submit a letter, just write it and drop it in the submit box!

I preferred when the cards listed in order...
